My experience with the Clothes Mentor in Savannah was not comparable to the outlined process stated on their website. I arrived at the store upon opening time at 10:00am. I was informed that items older than 2 years would not be accepted because they want to stay up to date with style trends. That information is not stated on their website, which is unfortunate, because many of the items I brought in were older than 2 years. I was also informed I had two people ahead of me with items to sell, and I would receive a phone text from the store when my items were ready, and I was given an estimation of 12:30pm. Please be aware that the process stated on their website reads that it takes about 20-30 minutes, depending on the number of buys ahead of your turn. I can only assume the store is understaffed, because when I came back to the store 3 hours later my items still were not complete. I understood I had the option to come back in three days to pick up my items, however I live 45 minutes away from Savannah, so for my circumstance that wasn’t an option. I didn’t leave the store until 1:15pm. This is a big reason why I give the store a low rating, because it was not a quick process at all. Also, I do not know if it is always like this at the store, but the spot that potential sell/buy items are placed is right behind the main counter on the floor. It’s a big mess, and did not look efficient. Granted, the items are all in boxes or bags, so they’re covered, but employees had to tip toe over items everywhere just to move around, it was covering a majority of the walking space. Lastly, the offer I was made back was not 1/3 of the item’s original retail, like the employee in the store described initially. It’s actually 1/3 of that 1/3 cost. This was only clarified when I looked on their website. I’m also confused about their buying process because some of the items Clothes Mentor bought from me were almost 5 years old. If you’d like a small amount of cash or store credit back for new/used clothing, then you could try going here. But from my experience it was not fast at all, and there were too many discrepancies between what the store employee described as the buying process, and what actually happens.
